Overview

This program covers engineering design, structures, and construction management. Education takes place in cooperation with other design and engineering professionals. Students are expected to have good visual skills, a grasp of mathematics, and the history of architecture. The program focuses on the responsibility of the architect in building design, the detailed development of building systems, and teamwork. This degree course aims to give students a clear understanding of the key contexts of architecture and the built environment, the design relationships among people, architectural space, and the environment – through live projects and contemporary situations. It comprises lectures, workshops, and studio design work. The Institute of Architecture Engineering has contacts with a vibrant national and international community made up of leading architects and related researchers. Overview

This BSc program offers the knowledge of material engineers who are able to interpret and control the chemical processes in the materials, to test and to inspect the characteristics and the structure of the materials in order to change them by the use of various technologies and to control and organize the material production technological processes in order to provide the required high-quality of materials in mass production. The students of this study program will acquire in-depth theoretical knowledge that is adequate to enable them to continue with their studies at the graduate, master level.

Program structure

During their studies, students are required to take up to 210 credits, each semester totaling 30 credits.

The modules of the study course include a subject in the following areas: the structure and characteristics of the materials, coating technologies, the chemistry of metals, ceramics, polymers, metal technology, production technology, heat and fluid dynamics, heat treatment, and surface treatment, waste processing, ceramics technologies, chemistry, and material science, composites, melting of alloys, environmental protection, and energetics, mechanics, quality control, casting processes, polymer technology, knowledge of standards, tool design, technological modeling, characteristics, and structure testing.

In the final semester, students are required to accomplish their final degree projects and write their thesis.

Overview

The aim of the program is to provide a comprehensive education that prepares students for successful engineering practice and/or advanced studies. Students learn about the basic physical laws governing our environment, material science, and technology at the micro-and nanometer level, as well as mathematics and informatics. Overview

This BSc program in Technical Management offers a broad-based approach to engineering and management, provides the students with an educational profile that combines in-depth technical competence with a solid knowledge in business administration and management. The core content of the course comprises business, management, engineering, and technology subject matters. Specialist options include operations management, quality management, environmental engineering, and logistics management. Students learn how products are engineered, manufactured, and marketed; how new technology is implemented and applied; and how businesses and their human factors are managed or even financially controlled. Business and management topics make extensive use of case studies and project work, and a wide range of assessment methods is employed.

Programme structure

During their studies students are required to take up to 210 credits, each semester totaling 30 credits.

There are six core modules in each of the first three years of the programme.

The core modules in the first year are taken mainly from the fields of technical science, natural science and human sciences. The technical and natural science modules introduce the fundamental technical and mathematical techniques within the context in which they can be used.

Second year modules introduce the field of business management. The business modules begin by explaining the economic and industrial environment in which engineering companies must operate, then introduce the tools and techniques needed to manage an engineering business successfully.

During the third year, the students commence their specializations. The students are offered four options: operations management, quality management, environmental engineering, and logistics management. Option modules or electives are also offered to the students.

In the final semester students are required to accomplish their final degree projects and write their theses.

Overview

Program description:

The aim of the Industrial Design Engineering BSc education is to train industrial product and design engineers capable to design, manufacturing, and distributing industrial products, particularly within an SME framework. Graduate industrial product and design engineers are technical specialists who are out-of-the-box thinkers and primarily design, manufacture, and distribute durable consumer products and articles for personal use. In possession of their knowledge and skills of technology, aesthetics, humanities, and economics, they are able to carry out independent creative work in each phase of product development; they also know the innovation process of product development, as well as the material, organizational and human resources required for product development; and they are capable to manage product life cycles. They are prepared to continue their studies at a Masters’s course.

The aim of this program is to provide students with modern knowledge of natural science, ecology, engineering, economics, and management in order that they will be able to detect environmental risks in various fields and to manage damage control actions. Graduated students are able to reduce or eliminate environmental harms and damage, use natural resources reasonably, to develop stand-alone low-waste technologies. They are also capable of finding new solutions for recycling waste and disposing of hazardous waste. They possess knowledge about nature and landscape protection and environmental policy as well as being able to work in teams and to communicate with national and foreign experts. They are suitable for designing, organizing, controlling, and participating in engineering work, and are able to adapt to the ever-changing requirements. With the acquired knowledge, they will be able to continue the training at the MSc level. Students will be able to specialize by selecting appropriate elective courses from the university’,s portfolio.

Overview

The study program aims to train basic level logistics engineers who are able to analyze, organize and control the logistic (supply of goods, handling materials, stocking, commissioning, loading, supply of materials, distributions of goods, management of waste) process and system of material flow inside companies and between enterprises and also their related information flow with the help of their scientific, special technical, economic/management, information technological and industrial, transportation technological knowledge related to the professional field of logistics. Their professional knowledge enables them to participate in the production and quality control of logistic machines, equipment, and devices as elements of logistic systems, and manage their operation. Graduates will be prepared to continue their studies at the Master’s (MSc) level.

 

Program structure

The total number of credits needed to complete the program is 210 credits. The courses of the program are divided into four categories: basic knowledge of natural sciences (54 credits), knowledge of economics and human sciences (20 credits), professional knowledge (121 credits), thesis course (15 credits). 1 credit equals one ECTS credit, and 1 credit is defined as 25 student working hours.

The objective of the Civil Engineering BSc program is to train civil engineers who are capable of solving complex plans, designs, management, operational, and construction problems related to civil engineering in the public sector and private industry.
